
Victorias City was awarded as the 2024 LGU champion of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) during the opening of the Provincial Women’s Month 2025 celebration at Ayala Malls Capitol Central, Bacolod City, March 7.
The recognition highlights the city’s commitment to promoting women’s rights, empowerment, and gender equality, according to the statement from the Victorias City Public Information Office.
City councilors Teresita Bartolome and Hermie Millan attended the event, showing their support for the advocacy.
They were joined by City Social Welfare and Development Officer Joy Reunir, RSW, and representatives from various women’s sectors.
Among them were Sidlak Victorias Women’s Organization federation officers, barangay VAWC desk officers, kagawad committee chair on women, and the Victorias City council for women.
Senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), BCPC child representatives, solo parents, and OFW representatives were also present.
The city’s collective efforts in advancing the campaign were made possible through strong collaboration with stakeholders and partner agencies.
Program implementer on women’s welfare and 18-day campaign coordinator Aireen Grace Gazo played a key role in organizing and coordinating the advocacy initiatives.
