Victorias City senior citizens get social pension

A total of 1,314 indigent senior citizens in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, availed of P7,884,000 social pension from the city government, which was distributed on June 10 and 11 at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center.

Organized by the City Social Welfare and Development Office, Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez led the distribution of the social pension.

The payout covered monthly stipends from January to June 2025, amounting to P6,000 per beneficiary.

The initiative, according to the Victorias City government, aimed to ensure the timely and organized distribution of stipends, taking into account the health, safety, and physical needs of senior citizens.

Benitez, the congressman-elect of Negros Occidental’s 3rd district, reaffirmed his support for the city’s continuous efforts to uplift the welfare of the senior citizen community.

The distribution underscores the City Government of Victorias’ strong commitment to supporting its elderly residents and highlights the importance of social assistance programs in enhancing the lives of the city’s most vulnerable sectors, a statement from the local government unit said.*
