A poultry farm 14 in Hacienda Timawa, Brgy. XI, Victorias City, Negros Occidental was closed on November, for the lack of a business permit, among other violations.

Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez led the Victorias City Business Permits and Licensing Office in closing the poultry farm, as recommended by the Joint Inspection Team, according to a statement issued by the City Information Office.

The closure of the poultry farm was triggered by its non-compliance to the standard minimum distance of 500 meters away from a major road and failure to relocate within 30 days, upon inspection conducted on June 7, as recommended by JIT, and for lack of business permit, it added.

Benitez, in his Facebook account, said he is giving importance in pushing for transparency, accountability, and imposing discipline to all public and private establishments in Victorias City.

The closure of the poultry farm was the first under the administration of Benitez.*
