A total of 109 residents in the 26 barangays of Victorias City, Negros Occidental, availed of free medical services and medicines conducted by the Nikki Cares Foundation on October 8.

Headed by Dominique “Nikki” Benitez, the foundation engaged in extending minor surgical operations and medical consultations all over Negros Occidental, for more than a decade now, through the help of volunteer doctors and medical practitioners from Metro Manila and Negros Occidental.

All those who joined the October 8 medical mission – the beneficiaries, volunteers, organizers and facilitators underwent the antigen testing, with strict compliance of health protocols was ensured.

Believing and living by the value of “passing it forward”, Asenso Victoriahanon standard bearer Javier Miguel “Javi” Benitez marked his 27th birthday on October 8 in his hometown, Victorias City, with doctor volunteers who participated in the medical and surgical mission held at the Don Alejandro Yap Quiña Cultural Center.

“The best way to celebrate is to be of service to others,” Benitez said, as he relayed that he has always believed in celebrating personal or family milestones with a social impact.

The Nikki Cares Foundation was joined by the Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation and Kaayong Lawas Foundation in facilitating the medical activity with the support and cooperation of the Victorias City government and the barangay officials.

Volunteer doctors, who joined the activity, May Anne Buenafe, Hermie Alexander Sia, Mark Puertas, Kasha Charina Duena, Arianne Barredo, Jessica Estardo, Rholenne Grace Delicana, Odessa Sales, Jessica Estardo, and Thea Mae Dino, as well as volunteer nurses Edgar Chavez and Teodolfo Dino.

Among the top priorities of Benitez for Victorias City is to strengthen access of Victoriahanons to health programs and medical services, especially the underprivileged sector and indigents.

Javi Benitez leads a complete slate under the local banner of Asenso Victoriahanons for the May 2022 election.*
