The city government of Victorias in Negros Occidental yesterday signed a memorandum of agreement with the Information Technology Business Solutions Corporation, in line with the launching of the Victorias Smart City Ecosystem, which will fully revolutionize and digitalize city operations, businesses and profiling of all its residents.

Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez and Vice Mayor Abelardo Bantug III signed the MOA with ITBS headed by founder-Chief Executive Officer and resident John Paul Miranda.

Through ITBS, the Victorias City Citizen Mobile App will be launched.

The mobile app aims to provide a variety of integrated and convenient online services which includes several features: e-government services, online marketplace, online delivery services, online payment, entertainment, a 911 button, and other e-services.

Benitez said the project is aimed at empowering Victoriahanons through the extensive use of information technology solutions and applications, adding also that it will heighten the promotion of a cleaner and more inclusive Victorias City Government.

Prior to the MOA signing, ITBS Project Implementation Officer and Operations Manager Lester Morfe discussed the different underlying projects and activities which are enclosed in the agreement, including the launching of an Integrated Public Advisory and Consultation (IPACS) and 911 Emergency Management System (EMS).

Victorias City will be the first local government to adopt this system in Visayas.

ITBS, a Filipino-owned corporation and solutions provider, presented their integrated modern technology and efficient solutions application to the Victorias City Government last August 19.

City Administrator Lindolf De Castro, City Legal Officer Meddie Arbolardo Jr., Councilor Richard Julius Sablan, and all department heads also attended the MOA signing.*
