Bacolod-based Vijaya Merchants Solutions Inc. launched the online stores of its business partners in two of the Philippines’ biggest e-Commerce platforms, Shopee and Lazada, its press release said.

Vijaya is the first e-Commerce enabler serving the small-and-medium enterprises (SMEs) in Visayas and Mindanao.

Elena Pineda Gatanela, Vijaya’s director and chief administrative officer, said among the businesses in Bacolod with online stores are Aldrtz Corporation, Fresh Start Organic, Azatri Souvenirs, and Tumandok Craft Industries, the press release said.

Other businesses are the Maturan Pili Candies of Northern Samar, and Al Di Foods of Iloilo City.

These businesses will participate in the December 12, 2020 (12.12) Big Christmas sale.

She added that SMEs in Visayas and Mindanao, like in Bacolod and Negros Occidental, have no direct contacts with ecommerce platforms in Metro Manila, that constitutes 60 percent of the online market.

She said that because of the Covid crisis, SME producers like in Bacolod have experienced huge drops in their sales offline, reason why there is an urgent need to sell in e-commerce platforms that have nationwide customers, the press release added.*
