Vintage bomb, guns, shabu recovered

A vintage bomb was recovered, while four unlicensed guns and about P100,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs were seized in separate police operations on April 11 and 12 in Negros Occidental.

A vintage bomb was turned over to the police after it was discovered by an hacienda caretaker while plowing a sugarcane field at Stop Oso in Barangay Burgos, Cadiz City, on April 11.

Meanwhile, the campaign against the proliferation of loose firearms on April 12 led to the confiscation of three caliber .38 revolvers with 16 ammunition in the cities of Cadiz and Bago, Negros Occidental.

The apprehension of alias Ramy Sr. on Friday at Hacienda Banilad 1, Barangay Nanca, EB Magalona, yielded about 80 grams of suspected shabu valued at P540,000, and a caliber. 38 revolver with four ammunition.

Two other suspects, an alias Ramy Jr., and a certain Jeremie Quilantag, however, managed to escape, according to the E.B. Magalona police.

Eight other drug suspects were apprehended by the police on April 12 in the cities of San Carlos, Silay, and Cadiz, as well as Isabela and Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, yielding about 161 grams of suspected shabu valued at P290,000 and its paraphernalia.

They are now facing charges for violation of RA 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.*
