Vitamilk started the game on track, holding the lead for the first two quarters, outscoring Tanduay Ice 21-14 and 22-15, respectively, to lead by14 points shortly after the half. Tanduay Ice came out fighting in the third to outscore Vitamilk 25-18, cutting their deficit to only 7 points going into the fourth quarter.
The final ten minutes was a nip and tuck affair, but Vitamilk managed to emerge victorious with a final score of 73-66. Ben Bunol led Vitamilk, accruing 20 points, while Leonard Kilayko notched 15 points along with player of the game honors.
Meanwhile, Chino Melocoton amassed 12 points and Carlo Chu collected 14 points for Tanduay Ice, while Marc Jalapa and Genmar Zagado scored 13 and 8 points, respectively.
The first game between Absolute and Tiger Black of the Fil-Sino Michael Miranda Basketball Tournament went into forfeiture in favor of the former, due to lack of players.*
