
Vitamix jumped out to a strong start and led Asahi, 31-24, after one quarter. However, Asahi had a response in the second, outscoring Vitamilk by 29-22 to even the score as the game went into halftime at 53 all.
Asahi took control through the third, managing a double digit lead going into the final ten minutes of the game. Vitamilk dug in and put up a fight, clawing their way back into the game to ultimately take a 2-point lead in the final seconds to snatch the well-deserved 94-92 victory.
Ben Buñol led the way for Vitamilk with 31 points, followed by JD Javelosa with 15 points and player of the game honors. Meanwhile, Polo Lopinco and Clarence Quingco led Asahi with 18 points each, followed by Joel Masadia with 10.
In the other game between Absolute and Heineken, Darwyn Sadie sizzled for Absolute, scoring a game high 33 points with seven triples, taking the player of the game honors. Heineken led in the first two quarters of the game but was not able to hold their momentum in the remaining twenty minutes, where Sadie and Colonia took over in the final quarter for a combined 23 points as the game ended with a final score of 95-81 in favor of Absolute.
Absolute secured the number 1 spot and will be waiting in the semis. Stanley Tizon led Heineken with 21 points followed by Edrem Sansing with 11, while Cesar Tan added 10 points.*
