A freelance vlogger based in Negros Occidental was killed in a ‘self-inflicted’ motorcycle incident around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday along Mabucog Bridge in Barangay Zone 16, Talisay City.
The victim was identified as “Ralphie,” a 42-year-old freelance vlogger and resident of Buenavista Subdivision in Silay City.
According to the investigation conducted by the Talisay City Police Station, the victim was traveling in a northbound direction when he allegedly collided with a parked pickup truck, resulting in his immediate death.
Talisay CCPS Deputy Commander PLt. Ana Rose Duca stated that residents in the area heard a loud sound at around 1:30 a.m. However, upon checking, some residents reported finding nothing suspicious, which led them to dismiss the incident.
Duca added that the area was dimly lit, which might have prevented the victim from seeing the parked vehicle.
At around 6 a.m., a motorcyclist passing through the area found the victim soaked in blood and unresponsive. The witness promptly reported the incident to authorities.
Police revealed that the truck involved was parked in the area for repairs. The owner of the vehicle surrendered to the police and expressed willingness to provide financial support to the victim’s family.
Duca stated that, based on the investigation, no signs of foul play were detected, supporting the conclusion that the death was self-inflicted.
The victim’s remains were transported to a funeral home for proper disposition.*
