Mayor El Cid Familiaran is warning the public, particularly business establishments in the City, against pranksters who order food using his name and having them delivered to his office at the Bacolod City Government Center.

Familiaran said these unscrupulous individuals have victimized a water refilling station and four food establishments recently.

He said that while he was at his office at the second floor of the BCGC Friday, the Living Water Refilling Station delivered 35 containers of 5ml mineral water which he did not order. So he posted a notice on his Facebook account to warn the public.

The caller also ordered P12,000 worth of food from Kuppa Coffee and P22,000 worth of food from Sanders Coffee and Sausage. However, the management of Kuppa became suspicious when the caller made the order Tuesday which was a holiday, Familiaran said.

Aside from ordering food, the prankster called up Kuppa Coffee again asking for 1,000 worth of mobile phone load and for a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label to be delivered to the BCGC, he said.

Familiaran said he decided to post a notice to warn the public so they will not be victimized. “This is a serious prank since food is perishable and business establishments are just starting to recover their losses due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.

He was provided by the business establishments the numbers of the callers. He also appealed to businessmen to double check the orders they receive to avoid being victimized by these prank callers.*CGS
