VMA celebrates National Book Week

VMA Global College and Training Centers Inc. concluded its 90th National Book Week Celebration with the theme “Magbasa, Mangarap at Magdiwang,” emphasizing the transformative power of books in shaping minds and futures, a press release from VMA said.

The week-long celebration was filled with exciting activities, including a Poster Making Contest, Jeopardy and Feud games, a reflection on the Word of God, and the grand finale, “Korean Odyssey,” which celebrated Korean culture through music and dance.

The event was led by VMA’s Foreign Language Instructor, Pastor Kim and his wife, Joan, whose insights brought authenticity and inspiration to the cultural presentation.

The Poster Making Contest was one of the event’s highlights, with participants showcasing their creativity and talent inspired by VMA’s vision and mission. Winners received cash prizes, along with food and drinks as tokens of appreciation.

Richmond Huang won first place, Arlene Tayactac (second place), Jeon Klin Lindayao (third place), and Neil John Benedict Bautista, and Justine Lim who received consolation prizes. These students exemplified the theme through their innovative designs and artistic expressions.

President Capt. Nino Elson Salabas praised the success of the celebration, stating, “The 90th National Book Week has showcased the importance of learning, creativity, and collaboration in shaping brighter futures. Congratulations to all participants, organizers, and supporters.”

Executive Vice President Dr. Remedios Johanna Vargas added, “Books are powerful tools for growth and transformation. Let us continue fostering a love for learning and exploration.”

Organized by the Library Team and Book Club, led by Jona Macaranas, VMA chief librarian, the event was made possible through the support of VMA’s deans, program heads, faculty and staff. The college expresses its gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s celebration and looks forward to another inspiring National Book Week next year.*
