Dr. Remedios Johanna Vargas, executive vice president of VMA Global College, has been recognized as an honorary board member of the Asia Festival Association, an organization dedicated to supporting education and cultural exchange across Asia, a press release from VMA said.
The honor highlights Dr. Vargas’s commitment to empowering young people and promoting collaboration between cultures.
“I am very grateful to receive this recognition,” Dr. Vargas said. “I look forward to working with the Association to help young people and encourage cultural connections.”
Known for her dedication to education, Dr. Vargas has worked to create more accessible learning opportunities and promote programs that bring together people from different backgrounds. JSONO COMPETITION
VMA Global College & Training Centers Inc. recently garnered recognition for its commitment to education and community service, when it was honored by the Department of Education for its involvement in the Adopt-A-School Program and achieved first runner-up in the Junior Safety Officer National Olympics (JSONO) competition.
The Adopt-A-School Program promotes partnerships between public schools and private organizations to enhance educational resources. VMA’s collaboration with Sum-ag National High School and Sum-ag Elementary School showcases its dedication to improving student learning. Capt. Nino Elson Salabas, President of VMA, stated, “Being part of a program that supports schools and young learners is a true honor. This reflects our commitment to community engagement.”
In the JSONO competition, VMA’s team demonstrated excellent safety practices, earning them the runner-up position. This achievement highlights the college’s focus on equipping students with essential life skills.
