The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA), during its recent Board of Directors meeting, approved the endorsement to the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) for the certification of four academic programs of VMA Global College and Training Centers Inc., a press release from VMA said.
The programs are the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT), Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE), Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM), and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) which have been granted Level II Reaccredited Status for a period of five years effective October 2025 to October 2030.
In an interview, Capt. Niño Elson Salabas, PhD, president of VMA Global College and Training Centers Inc., expressed pride in the institution’s collective effort that led to this achievement.
“This Level II reaccreditation is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and shared commitment of our administrators, faculty, staff, and students. It affirms that VMA’s academic programs continue to meet and strive to exceed national standards of quality and excellence. More importantly, it challenges us to sustain a culture of continuous improvement as we prepare our learners for global competitiveness,” he said.
Salabas further emphasized that the reaccreditation reflects the institution’s long-term vision of strengthening both maritime and non-maritime programs while remaining responsive to the evolving needs of industry and society.
This recognition underscores the institution’s sustained commitment to quality assurance, outcomes-based education, faculty development, research, and student-centered services. Beyond acknowledging past achievements, the reaccreditation serves as a strong motivation for the institution to further elevate its academic standards and reinforce its mission of producing competent, ethical, and globally competitive graduates.*
