The Department of Social Welfare and Development – VI, together with the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) organized the food redemption for the Walang Gutom Program on Monday at the Gonzaga Gym, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, a press release from Bacolod PIO said.
A number of 314 beneficiaries coming from 33 barangays attended the event and were able to redeem food items such as rice, chicken, eggs, cabbage, apples, oranges, among many others.
The Walang Gutom Program is one of the numerous programs of DSWD to combat hunger in low-income households, through the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card containing food credits amounting to P3,000 that beneficiaries can use to buy food in DSWD accredited stores/retailers.*
