Hundreds of leaflets were airdropped on September 10 over the hinterlands of Calatrava, Negros Occidental, containing the photograph and information of rebel leader Roger Fabillar, who has a bounty of P300,000 for his arrest.

Fabillar and six of his followers, who are remnants of the dismantled Northern Negros Front, are facing murder charges in court in connection with the killings of Lalong barangay chairman Benjamen Javoc, Renato Estrebillo and Rodel Nobleza in Calatrava last month.

Lt. Col. J Jay Javines, 79th Infantry Battalion commander, said anyone with information that may lead to the capture of Fabillar, alias Arnel Tapang, will be P300,000 richer.

Fabillar was described by the 79IB to be 31 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with curly hair, frequently wears a jacket and carries a clutch bag.

For any information on Fabillar, Javines advised the public to contact 0927-339-2481, or 0963-873-9989.

“I encourage everyone to continuously support our campaign against the terrorist group. Your information and cooperation are vital to us. Let us join hands and help the government’s effort to put an end to the decades-long insurgency and bring justice to the innocent civilians who were killed mercilessly.” Javines said.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines Visayas Command also welcomed the filing of charges against Fabillar and six other identified rebel suspects.

Lt. Gen. Robert Dauz, VISCOM commander, assured the families of the victims that the AFP “will closely monitor the progress of the case and will continue to work closely with the PNP, so as to ensure that justice will be served swiftly.”

Dauz added that the admission of the communist terrorist group to the series of murders in Calatrava “is a clear manifestation of their murderous nature with complete disregard to human rights.”*
