The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod is requesting the Office of the Mayor to provide a temporary watchers’ station for caregivers of patients admitted at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital as they are not allowed to step inside the hospital wards.

The resolution authored by Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. made the request through the Department of Social Services and Development, General Services Office, and the City Engineer’s Office with the approval of Dr. Julius Drilon, chief of hospital of CLMMRH.

In his resolution, Gamboa said that it was posted in various social media platforms and local radio reports that several caregivers and watchers of patients were not allowed inside of CLMMRH and have to sleep outside the hospital grounds.

“While we recognize the health measures imposed by the hospital to minimize the spread of infectious diseases, with the changing of the weather condition nowadays, these watchers are prone to communicable disease and inconvenience if no immediate action will be taken,” Gamboa said.

He said they should be provided with temporary watchers station while proper protocols for social distancing and proper wearing of face mask for their safety must be strictly followed.*
