The general manager of the Sipalay City Water District, who is listed as the city’s top two most wanted person, was arrested by authorities on May 21, for multiple counts of suspected rape.
Police identified the accused as alias ‘Edgardo,’ 48, a resident of Purok 3, Barangay 3, Sipalay City.
He was apprehended during a ‘manhunt Charlie’ operation conducted by the tracker team of the Sipalay City Component Police Station (CCPS), led by police chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Jesus Mesahon Jr.
The warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 77, Sixth Judicial Region, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
The suspect faces two counts of rape under Criminal Case Nos. 26-0892 and 26-0893, with no bail recommended.
He faces an additional charge for rape by sexual assault under Criminal Case No. 26-0891, with a recommended bail of P120,000.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Sipalay CCPS for proper disposition.*
