Vocal and music teacher Elipas Sibua won the 2022 Outstanding Vocal Coach of the Year during the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) 25th Anniversary at Disneyland, Anaheim in California on July 22-30.
Sibua, a resident of Sipalay City in Negros Occidental and a National Director for the United Arab Emirates Team for four years, was chosen as the WCOPA 2022 Outstanding Vocal Coach of the World from among hundreds of vocal coaches nominated from 32 countries.
WCOPA 2022, dubbed as the “Talent Olympics”, is a prestigious event where different talents all over the world vie for the title to be the best of the best. It is the only official international competition program for seasoned and up-and-coming performers and entertainers held annually and judged by “Hollywood” industry professionals.
Sibua paid a courtesy visit to Sipalay City Mayor Maria Gina Lizares at her office in the New Government Center on August 8.
During their meeting, Sibua presented his award to Lizares and said he hopes to inspire Sipalaynons to follow their dreams.
