Weather halts sea trips from Bacolod

Sea trips from Negros Occidental to Iloilo and Cebu, and vice-versa, were temporarily halted yesterday, due to unfavorable weather conditions.

The management of fast ferry M/V Ocean Jet cancelled its 2 p.m. trip yesterday from Bacolod to Iloilo, due to unfavorable weather conditions.

M/V Masbate, which is under the management of Montenegro Lines, also informed the Philippine Coast Guard that it also suspended its 3 p.m. trip from Iloilo to Bacolod, due to heavy and strong waves.

Due to unsafe weather conditions, the owner of BALT BE JOURNEY, plying the routes of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, to Bantayan Island, Cebu, also announced yesterday that their operations were suspended until further notice.

The EB Aznar Shipping Corporation announced that suspension of the trip of M/V AWT I from San Carlos City in Negros Occidental, to Toledo City in Cebu, due to strong winds and big waves.

The state weather bureau reported a Low Pressure Area, estimated at 1,050 kilometers East of southeastern Mindanao, with a northeast monsoon affecting Luzon and Visayas, as of 3 p.m. yesterday.*
