The Police Regional Office 6 reported the arrest of 506 law violators in Western Visayas, in line with its simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement operations dubbed “Birada Semana” which ran from November 11 to 17.
In the campaign against wanted persons, 243 police operations resulted in the arrests of 245 wanted persons.
On operations against illegal drugs, a total of 113 drug peddlers were arrested, resulting in the confiscation of P12.6 million worth of suspected shabu.
During the same period, the police arrested illegal gambling violators and confiscated P22,805 in cash bets.
On the campaign against loose firearms, 18 persons were arrested and 163 firearms were deposited and surrendered.
The arrested suspects are now locked up in various jails in the region.*
