The wife of Ramil Europa, whose killing was claimed by the New People’s Army Leonardo Panaligan Command, has sought the help of the authorities in seeking justice for the death of her husband on January 23 in Sitio Sambag, Brgy. Manghanoy, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
Angelita Europa, 40, strongly debunked rebel claims that her husband used to be a member of the defunct Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade.
Ka JB Regalado, spokesman of the NPA Leonardo Panaligan Command, in an earlier statement, justified the killing of Ramil, whom he alleged to be a member of the RPA-ABB from 1998 to 2015 and also linked to numerous illegal activities.
In a statement she issued, Angelita described Ramel as a good person who never engaged in illegal activities, contrary to rebel claims, stressing that he has no criminal record, even in their barangay.
She added that her husband was also suffering from tuberculosis.
Angelita further clarified that it was Rene, a brother of Ramil, who used to be affiliated with the RPA-ABB.
Angelita disclosed that her husband was murdered while he was fishing at a creek.
The police recovered a fired cartridge of a .45 caliber pistol at the scene of incident.*
