A 74-year-old woman who succumbed to gunshot injuries was found dead on Saturday at Purok Manzano in Candoni, while a farmer was hacked dead in San Carlos City, all in Negros Occidental.
The septuagenarian woman, who was found dead at a vacant lot near a sugarcane plantation at Purok Manzano in Brgy. West, Candoni, had gunshot injuries at her back.
A post mortem examination was requested by the Candoni police to determine her cause of death.
P/Maj. Ruel Culanag, Candoni police chief, sought the help of any witnesses, as they are still facing a blank wall in their investigation of the incident.
Meanwhile, a 47-year-old man died after he was hacked by still unidentified suspects who he had challenged to a fist fight while under the influence of liquor on January 26 in Sitio Balangbang, Brgy. Codcod, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, according to the police.*
