A 58-year-old woman, who reportedly suffering from mental disorder, hacked her elder sister dead and caused injuries to her younger brother on November 2 in Sitio Candiacap, Brgy. Tapi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Police said that Elisa Tabujara y Nabaja, 72, succumbed to multiple injuries, after she was hacked by her younger sister, Estelita Lastimoso y Nabaja, inside her residence.
Tabujara was declared dead on arrival at the Kabankalan District Hospital, because of injuries in the head, right shoulder and back, a report of the Kabankalan City Police Station said.
Initial police investigations showed that Lastimoso, who is under a five-year medication for mental disorder, entered the house of her two sibilings, and hacked Tabujara and as well as their brother, Herman Nabaja, 55.
Nabaja, however, survived, despite of injuries in the head and left arm, police further said.
Lastimoso, who was armed with a bolo, in hacking her two siblings, was endorsed by the Tapi barangay officials to the Kabankalan City Police Station for further investigation.
Policemen also arrested Elberto Gallarde for illegal possession of firearms on November 2 in Brgy. Caliling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.
The arrest of Gallarde came after he was complained for mauling his wife. Jona, while under the influence of liquor, while armed with a homemade shotgun.*
