A 58-year-old woman died, while seven others, including four police officers, were injured in a vehicular crash on March 29, in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.
Police investigations indicated the victims were on their way to San Carlos City, when the Toyota Avanza vehicle they were riding fell off a 50-meter ravine, after it overshot a curve it was negotiating along the national highway, at Purok Tuburan in Barangay Pandanon, Don Salvador Benedicto.
The fatality was identified by the police as Daisy delos Santos, 58.
Injured were P/Cpl. Patrick Panganiban, P/Cpl. Jane Claire Batadhay, P/Cpl. Hazel Motin and Patrolman Calveen Corral, all assigned at the Bacolod City Police Office, April Rose Megel and two minors whose identities were withheld.
All the victims were transported to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center in Bacolod City, where delos Santos was reported to have died.
All the four police personnel are now in stable condition, according to a report of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
The three other injured victims, including the two minors, were also reported to be in stable condition.*
