The sachets of shabu, worth P1.7 million, seized in a drug-bust operation in Bacolod City yesterday*

Combined operatives of the Bacolod City Police Drug Enforcement Unit, the regional Drug Enforcement Unit-6, and the Police Station 4 seized P1.7 million worth of suspected shabu from a woman they arrested in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, at about 1 a.m. yesterday.

P/Captain Paul Vincent Pendon, head of the BCPO-CDEU, identified the arrested suspect as   Christine Vivero, alias Bebe, 35, of Purok Bagong Silang in Brgy. Estefania, who is considered a high value target.

Vivero was arrested after she tried to sell sachets of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer in exchange for P1,000, Pendon said. Her companion, identified as Edwin Vivero, alias Tato, 34, also of the purok, managed to evade arrest, he added.

About 59 heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 250 grams, a brown paper bag, and a digital weighing scale were recovered from Vivero when she was arrested, police records showed.

The BCPO has, so far, seized P4.4 million worth of suspected shabu in its operations since Saturday. Vivero is now detained at Police Station 4 and charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against her.*
