Woman shot dead, found in pigpen

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

A woman who had been arrested twice for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, was found dead yesterday inside a pig pen at Purok Pilit Dos in Brgy. 6, Bacolod City.

The victim, who succumbed to gunshot wounds, was identified by the police as 41-year-old Junelyn Alegada, alias Tata.

PCapt. Vincent Paul Pendon, Police Station 2 chief, disclosed that Alegada served her sentence for one year in 2018, after she was arrested for violation of RA 9165.

In August 15 last year, Pendon said Alegada and her son were both arrested for a similar offense. But the case against her was dismissed by the court, he added.

Her son had been recently released from jail, after availing of probation, he added. The motive of the shooting incident is still being investigated by the police.*
