A woman and two others died in separate shooting and hacking incidents on October 25 and 26, respectively, in Negros Occidental.
The 38-year-old woman, whose identity has been withheld by the police, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, after she was shot by an unidentified gunman at San Juan Tunga in Brgy. 5, San Carlos City.
The victim, allegedly tagged as a drug personality by the police, was declared dead on arrival at the San Carlos City Hospital.
Recovered from the scene of the incident were an empty shell and a slug of a .45 caliber pistol, a cellular phone, and its accessories.
The assailant immediately fled after the shooting incident.
Three unidentified suspects also shot and killed a 38-year-old victim on Wednesday night at Sitio Indangawan, Brgy. Manlocahoc, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
The victim, his wife, and son were on their way home after watching a television program at the residence of their neighbor when they were approached by the three suspects.
After the victim’s identity was confirmed by the suspects, they immediately shot him without any provocation, according to the initial investigation of the Sipalay police.
The Sipalay City police disclosed that the victim died on the spot.
On the other hand, a minor died, after he was hacked by one of two suspects on Thursday at Crossing Vito in Escalante City, Negros Occidental.
The 17-year-old victim, whose identity was also withheld by the police, died on the spot.
The victim had a companion who managed to escape by seeking refuge inside a sugarcane plantation, according to the police.
Initial investigations of the Escalante police showed that the victim and his companion were waiting for their friend at a waiting shed when they were attacked by two unidentified suspects.*
