
All eight members of the E. B. Magalona Wrestling Secondary Girls team paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Marvin Malacon Thursday, after winning first runner-up in their event at the recent Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet 2024, a press release from EBM PIO said.
The team is composed of Jamaica Nardo, Ma. Cristina Olvido, Starlene Sayo, Crizel Mae Pandan, Xhamelle Grace Amaca, April Mae Gumban, Yzza Cabalhin, and Geraldine Dorimon – who are all from E. B. Magalona National High School.
Malacon congratulated the athletes and thanked them for bringing pride and honor to the municipality.
The mayor provided support for their training and allowances. He encouraged them to continue training, as he assured them of his continued support.
The girls competed from May 1 to 6 at 888 Chinatown Square in Bacolod City. The awarding ceremony was held on May 7.
They were accompanied by their coach, Mae Bernasol; chaperone, Laika Cañete; trainor, Cesar Soberano; Master Teacher II Analyn Dimalaluan, Cluster 1 Supervisor Angeles Verdeprado, and Cluster 2 Supervisor Laila Fronda.*
