Negrense writer Ed Gulmatico donated a book titled “Tears and Joy Memoirs” to several schools in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

The book he wrote about his life was published by Amazon Publishing (Books) way in May 2021.

Gulmatico said he made a solemn promise that if the book will be published, he will donate a copy to schools that played a role in his life as well as that of his family. A minimal amount of “P50 per book” from book sales or proceeds will be donated to St. Vincent Home for the Aged in Tangub, Bacolod City.

Three copies of the book were given to Don Bosco Technical Institute in Victorias City, Don Bosco Technical Institute Library, retired principal Rebecca Maroma, and DBTl Alumni Secretariat, and one copy each to La Consolacion College Extension School in Gardenville, Brgy. Tangub, Negros Occidental High School (NOHS), UNO-R where five of his children graduated, and Bata National High School where his wife taught for 20 years, he said.

Gulmatico said he still has one copy to donate to STI-West Negros University.*
