WV cops seize P2.6M drugs in 24 hours

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) reported that it confiscated about 393 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P2.67 million in Western Visayas, within 24 hours of anti-drug operations, from 5:59 a.m. of January 21 to 5:59 a.m. of the 22nd.

The operations resulted in the arrest of 15 drug personalities, according to regional police spokesman Lt. Col. Arnel Solis.

Three of the arrested drug suspects were tagged as high value individual drug personalities, while the 12 others were categorized as street level individual drug personalities.

The Bacolod City Police Office recovered P1,761,200 worth of illegal drugs from five suspects, while the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office nabbed five more suspects and recovered P75,480 worth of suspected shabu.

On the other hand, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office made two arrests and confiscated around P544,000 worth of illegal drugs, while the Iloilo City Police Office arrested three suspects and recovered P292,400 worth of shabu.

The arrested  suspects are now under police custody and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to Solis.*
