WV’s 2nd most wanted person falls in Sagay

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

An alleged member of the dismantled Northern Negros Front of the New People’s Army, who ranks number 2 in the list of most wanted persons in Western Visayas, was apprehended on Wednesday by the police in Barangay Puey, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

The apprehension of the 52-year-old fugitive, known only through his aliases, Boboy and Poloy, was triggered by the issuance of an arrest warrant against him by the Sagay Regional Trial Court, for two counts of murder.

The arrested suspect was also denied bail by the court.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, disclosed that the arrest of the wanted person is a manifestation of the police commitment in enforcing the law and in giving justice to the victims.

The successful operation was conducted by the Sagay City Police Station, assisted by the 1st Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, and 65th Special Action Company of the Special Action Battalion 6.

On August 27, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office accounted for 13 wanted persons, while the Bacolod City Police Office netted two other fugitives.*
