The long of the law has finally caught up with the number one Most Wanted Person in Western Visayas and two suspected New People’s Army rebels, who were all arrested by the police and Army soldiers in Negros Occidental.
Troopers of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and local police, assisted by the 62nd Infantry Battalion, yesterday apprehended two suspected NPA rebels in Sitio Mainit, Brgy. Santol, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
PMaj. Randy Babor, Binalbagan police chief, identified the arrested suspects as Junjie Camanso, alias Junjie,who has pending arrest warrants for attempted murder, and Judy Blazer, alias Judy, both members of the NPA Yunit Militia operating in Brgy. Santol of the municipality.
Himamaylan Regional Trial Court Judge Walter Zorilla has recommended P120,000 bail for Camanso, who is facing attempted murder charges, while Blazer was denied bail by Judge Edgardo Catilo for murder charges.
The Joint Enhanced Military and Police Operation (JEMPO) included the participation of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, PNP Special Action Force, Regional Intelligence Unit 6 and 300th Air Intelligence Wing, and the Binalbagan police.
Lourween Lacorte, who ranks number one in the list of most wanted persons in the Region, was also arrested by the police on September 8 at Purok Sam Village in Brgy. Granada, Bacolod City. Judge Ana Celeste Piñero Bernad issued the arrest warrants against Lacorte for two counts of violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
Participating in the joint operation against Lacorte were the troopers of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Provincial Field Unit, and Bacolod City Police Office Station 5.
Lacorte, a resident of Purok Sampaguita, Brgy. Abuanan, Bago City, is now under the custody of the CIDG Provincial Field Unit.*
