Around 65 visual artists from Bacolod City and Negros Occidental gathered together for the largest group art exhibit of the year at the ground floor of the Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City.
The United Negros Artist (UNA) exhibit, titled “The Prologue,” organized by Sandy Solinap of Galleria Verde, is scheduled to run from January 20 to 30.
Charlie Co, Bacolod contemporary visual artist and co-founder of Orange Project, along with Solo Locsin and Noel Antivola, an honorary member of the Philippine Consulate in Xiamen, China, were the guests of honor at the opening of the show Friday last week.
The participating artists are members of different art groups in Bacolod City and Negros, namely Feminine Touch artists, Alla Prima, Terrapinta, Pintor Kulapol, independent artists, and the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros which will be celebrating its 50th year in 2025.
A watercolor jam held on the second day of the show, at the exhibition site, conducted by the IWS Arts Cafe Bacolod, in partnership with Galleria Verde.
The activity, held in celebration of the Global Watercolor Day, was led by AAB-N director Edbon Sevilleno.
Meanwhile, AAB-N honorary member Mike “Nonoy” Pillora of the legendary group ASIN, and visual artist Agustin Chavez performed song numbers during the opening of the group exhibit, while Antivola and other artists shared some poems.*
