Young Hinoba-an mayor fires off 3 EOs

The youngest mayor ever of the town of Hinoba-an, Mayor Daph Anthony Reliquias, started his first three days in office with three consecutive executive orders creating offices that will address the very basic needs of his constituents.

Among the first steps that Mayor Reliquias made in his first three days in office are the establishment of Livelihood and Cooperative, Emergency Assistance and Social Services Offices (LESS).

For the first time in Hinoba-an and given the geographical location of the town, the one call/text/dm hotline was set in place as the cornerstone of DIAL D.A.P.H. Central Command as spelled out in his Executive Order No. 1.

Any concerns on emergency, fire, police and medical support will be sent through the hotline so that the Central Command can relay and coordinate with proper offices the immediate response to the concern.

Executive Order No. 2 was also signed by Reliquias Creating the Hinoba-an Social Services (SoSe) Unit. It is an office directly under the Office of the Mayor that aims to timely address scholarships, financial assistance, medical and hospitalization and other social services needs of Hinoban-ons.

It is likewise a one-stop shop for all social services concerns, thus eliminating table to table and office to office hooping of someone who is in dire need of help from the local government.

Also created through Executive Order No. 3 was the Municipal Cooperative And Livelihood Development Unit (CLDU) that aims to empower and organize those in the grassroots level, a press statement from his office said.

The main goal of CLDU is to be the catalyst of self-empowerment of Hinoban-ons by developing cooperatives and methodically drafting and dispensing livelihood programs that can greatly impact on the lives of people in this now booming municipality in Southern Negros Occidental.

Where former President Ramon Magsaysay used the phrase “those who have less in life should have more in law”, Reliquias translated it into concrete action by really focusing in addressing the concerns of those who have less in life.

“I am a Nurse by profession and a public servant by commitment, thus, I am trained to save lives as a nurse and deliver the best ever service directly to the people as a public servant,” Reliquias pointed out.*
