A man died after being stabbed by younger stepbrother inside an internet café at Urban Phase 4, Barangay Rizal, in San Carlos City, on Sunday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Charles Ian Alquisalas, a 41-year-old unemployed man, while the suspect was identified as his younger stepbrother, Alexis Cueva, a 27-year-old helper. Both are residents of the said barangay.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was playing on a computer inside the internet café when the suspect suddenly arrived and, without any apparent reason, stabbed the victim twice, hitting him on the left arm and chest, causing his death.

Upon arrival of the police, the lifeless body of the victim was lying face down on the pavement, bathed in blood. The victim was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The police said that the motive of the suspect was apparently a personal grudge, based on the heated argument between them before the crime happened.

After the incident, the police recovered a knife used in the commission of the crime, while the suspect who fled was arrested in his residence and is now under their custody, following the hot pursuit operation conducted by the San Carlos City Police Station.

BINALBAGAN HACKING

A farmer named Lolito, 58-years-old, was hacked by a group of four men at Sitio Tamburong, Barangay Bi-ao, in Binalbagan on Saturday evening.

According to PCapt. Joelan Vinson of Binalbagan Municipal Police Station, the victim was returning home from their farm at Sitio Bulubuaya, Barangay Bi-ao, on the same evening when he allegedly encountered a group of drunk individuals, including his nephew, alias “Reynald,” 23-years-old, who is said to have had an old grudge against him.

Based on the report, one of the suspects threw a long-neck bottle, striking the victim’s right cheek. Another suspect, identified to be his nephew, then hacked the victim multiple times on his back and other body parts. The severely injured victim attempted to fight back and fled to his home to seek help, where concerned citizens saw him and brought him to the hospital.

Vinson said that the nephew had a longtime personal grudge against his uncle, with the suspect claiming he experienced maltreatment from the victim.

The victim suffered multiple injuries to his back and head but is currently in stable condition.

The four suspects are now under the custody of the police and will face criminal charges, Vinson said.*
