Negros Occidental 5th district Representative Emilio Bernardino Yulo III has the full support of the Lakas CMD party headed by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, disclosed Abang Lingkod Rep. Stephen “Caraps” Paduano on Tuesday.
The announcement of Paduano, who was also joined by Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr, the secretary general of United Negros Alliance (UNegA), came in the wake of the disclosure of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez that they will support congressional bid of Board Member Anton Occeno for the Negros Occidental 5th district.
Benitez is a member of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, where Occeno serves as the provincial chairman for Negros Occidental. Lacson and Benitez are also members of local political group Love Negros.
Paduano said that Rep. Yulo, who is seeking reelection, is the “congressional candidate of Lakas CMD” in the 5th district of Negros Occidental.
“I’m sure Lakas will support Cong Dino,” said Escalante.
The reelection bid of Yulo is also supported by Hinigaran Mayor Nadie Arceo, Moises Padilla Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia Yulo, La Castellana Mayor Alme Rhummyla Nicor Mangilimutan, Isabela mayoral candidate Miguel Angelo Yulo and his running mate, former Vice Mayor Renato Malabor Jr.
Lacson, a member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) earlier explained that as an ally of the PFP, he is endorsing the candidacy of Occeño.*
