Negros Occidental Fifth District Rep. Emelio Bernardino Yulo III has joined the list of members of Lakas-CMD in the province.
Yulo, who is tentatively set to file his Certificate of Candidacy for the fifth district congressional post on October 7, took his oath as member before House majority floor leader and Lakas-CMD Executive Vice President Manuel “Mannix” Dalipe on Thursday.
In a social media post, Yulo said he is the official candidate of Lakas-CMD in the Fifth District of Negros Occidental.
Lakas-CMD, led by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, coalesced with Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), which is headed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Board Member Anthony Dennis Occeño, the provincial chairman of PFP, is reportedly eyeing to challenge Yulo in the 5th district congressional race.
Occeño disclosed on Thursday that he will file his COC on Oct. 6. But he is silent on what position he will pursue.
On the other hand, Yulo said he thanked Speaker Romualdez for his “invaluable support and confidence in his journey.”*
