Negros Occidental 5th district Representative Emilio Bernardino Yulo yesterday thanked Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson for endorsing his opponent, stressing that it awakened his supporters, which he claims is composed of the “silent majority.”
Lacson earlier endorsed Board Member Anton Occeño, a congressional aspirant in the 5th district of Negros Occidental, in compliance with the request of South Cotabato Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., who is the national president of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
Occeño is the president of PFP Negros Occidental.
Yulo, who is seeking reelection for his second term as Negros Occidental 5th district representative, revealed that even recipients of his scholarship programs are now leading his campaign in Binalbagan, while two groups of volunteers in La Castellana have offered help in his campaign.
“They took the initiative (of campaigning for me). That is a big thing for me,” the solon said.
Yulo, a member of Lakas, said he respects the stand of Gov. Lacson, who is a member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition.
Lakas CMD and NPC forged an alliance with PFP, which is headed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., for the May 12 elections.
Yulo said he was able to change the political landscape of the 5th district when he won as congressman three years ago, as he noted that the people are now looking for the quality of service which he delivered.*
