Mayor Pedro Zayco has called for support for the new administration of Kabankalan City as he conceded defeat in the Kabankalan City mayoralty race in the May 9 elections.
Zayco, who garnered 36,611 votes, lost to Tanawan barangay kagawad Benjie Miranda’s 36,889 votes, a difference of merely 278 votes.
The outgoing mayor of Kabankalan City said he respects the decision of his fellow Kabankalanons in connection with the recent concluded May 9 polls.
Zayco rallied the people to support the incoming administration for the further development of Kabankalan City.
At the same time, he also thanked all those who supported his administration and who voted for him during the election.
Miranda is affiliated with Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan, while outgoing Mayor Zayco is a member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition.
Vice Mayor Raul Rivera, who is the running mate of Zayco, was also defeated by Migz Zayco in the Kabankalan City vice mayoralty race.
Rivera got 25,790 votes compared to 37,773 of Zayco.*
