Mayor Greg Gasataya confirmed that no drowning incidents occurred in Bacolod City throughout the observance of Holy Week.
The mayor credited the outcome to the continuous coordination of city departments and emergency responders, including the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Bacolod Traffic and Transport Management Department.
According to the city government, personnel remained on active duty to monitor resorts and coastal areas where crowds gathered for the holiday.
Parallel to safety monitoring, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported a generally peaceful week.
Under BCPO OIC PCol. Eugene Rebadomia, police personnel and augmentation forces from the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) were deployed to churches, terminals, and ports.
Authority figures noted that public cooperation played a significant role in achieving a zero-incident record for the period.*
