A Sanggunian Kabataan chairperson was declared dead on arrival at a government hospital, after he was electrocuted yesterday at his residence in Brgy. Bandila, Toboso, Negros Occidental.
Toboso Councilor Richard Jaojoco identified the victim as Renan Tapang, a 23-year-old SK chairperson of Brgy. Bandila in Toboso.
Jaojoco said that Tapang was electrocuted while he was trying to replace an electric bulb at his home, after taking a bath.
He said neighbors tried to rescue the victim about 10 minutes after, as his wife, who panicked, tried to find somebody to turn off the main switch.
Jaojoco said that Tapang was set to go to the municipal hall of Toboso, to submit his basketball lineup for a sports event, in line with the municipal fiesta, when the incident occurred.
The victim was reported by Jaojoco to have been declared dead on arrival at the Sagay City hospital.*
