The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office has again topped the campaign against illegal gambling in Western Visayas, in terms of arrested violators, from June 1 to 15.
Of the 204 illegal gambling violators, NOCPPO accounted for 130 suspects, followed by Bacolod City Police Office with 37 violators, according to a press statement issued by the PRO 6.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office nabbed 11 violators, Capiz PPO – 9, Guimaras and Aklan PPOs had six each, while five others were apprehended by the Antique PPO, in the same period.
A total of P45,600 in cash bets were recovered by the police in 71 anti-illegal gambling operations.
PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, expressed his satisfaction in the campaign against illegal gambling, however, still ordered the police chiefs to further intensify their campaign.*
