42 drug arrests, yield P8.7M shabu in WV

Thirty six anti-drug operations of the police in Western Visayas from April 20 to 26 led to the neutralization of 42 drug personalities, whose arrests yielded P8.7 million worth of illegal drugs.

Of the 42 arrested drug suspects, seven were classified as high-value, and thirty-five are street-level individuals, according to regional police spokesperson PLt. Col. Arnel Solis.

In a statement, Solis said about 1.29 kilos of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P8,785,600, and five grams of dried marijuana leaves valued at P600 were seized by operatives of the different police units in the region.

The Bacolod City Police Office seized 130 grams, while Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office recovered 24 grams of illegal drugs, ,which they contributed to the accomplishments of the Police Regional Office 6.

The anti-drug operation of the police at Purok Hacienda Guba in Brgy.  Alijis, Valladolid, Negros Occidental, also resulted in the arrest of another drug personality identified as alias Kano, and the recovery of about one gram of suspected shabu with a market value of P6,800.*
