The game between AACI Transport and the Huminove Tigers got out to a competitive start as the former held a four-point lead after one quarter of basketball, 29-25. The score stayed close through the second and after a few lead changes, the Tigers managed to carry a two-point lead into the break, 52-50.
The Tigers then turned up the heat in the third, outscoring AACI Transport by four points in the quarter to claim a six-point lead heading into the final frame. However, AACI Transport worked extra hard in the final twelve minutes, able to close out the game, winning by a slim one point lead for a final score of 94-93.
Oda Tampus led AACI Transport with 30 points, Harvey Eslawas totaled 20 and Michael Deocadiz delivered 15. Meanwhile, Randy Colonia led the Huminova Tigers with 20 points, Polo Lopingco followed with 19, while Albert Magdato added 18 and Arvin Espinitra notched 13.
In the other game, Basecom started out strong, leading by six points after one quarter. The Silver Dragon Transport produced a better effort in the second and rallied to take a three-point lead into the break.
However, Basecom jumped back in front to start the third and used its momentum to grab a commanding seven point lead going into the final frame. The Silver Dragons were able to keep it close, and made a final push that was not enough to complete the intended comeback. In the end, Basecom defeated Silver Dragon Transport, 73-70.
Tata Javillo delivered 14 points for Basecom and earned player of the game honors. Matt Deles followed up with 9 points, while Carlo Chu, Ronald Delada and Dirk Dongon scored 8 points each. Meanwhile, Pipo Javelona led the Silver Dragon Transport with 24 points, Alvan Rodriguez followed with 10, and McCoy Reyes added 7.*
