The Rotary Club of Bacolod inaugurated a median island in Laos Elementary School, Brgy. Binobohan, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental on Saturday, April 27, with officials describing it as the first of many upgrades and beautification projects by the Rotary Club of Bacolod.
The Laos ES median island is a biophilic architectural approach designed by young architect Clyde de Guzman, son of Past President & Architect Jose Glenn de Guzman, UAP, while the construction was undertaken by the people of Brgy. Binobohan.
Leading the inauguration were PDG Edgar Sy and Arch. Clyde de Guzman assisted by Hope President Michelle Medrano, Incoming President Marjorie Dino, Past President & Club Secretary Frederick Anthony de Leon, Past President & Club Director Pauline Cuaycong, Past President Jose Glenn de Guzman, Treasurer Mae Eras, Rotarians Eroll Arroyo, Jet Pili and Jennie Buan, incoming Baby Rotarians Sam Solon, Dexter and Louise. Also present were Brgy. Capt. Elmer Catong and Barangay Officials, teachers led by Lorgy Magdalino and Amy Carbero from Binobohan National High School and Laos Elementary School, and the community volunteers.
The inauguration culminated in the distribution of school supplies, tokens, used clothing and vitamins.*
