Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental, will soon have Taguig as its sister city.

Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson said he thanked Mayor Lani Cayetano for her positive reaction to the “twinning agreement” with Taguig City, “in accordance with our shared intention to promote equality and mutual benefit through utilizing existing partners and networks in examining opportunities that present the possibility of new investments, stimulate sustainable economic movement, and create jobs in order to make our nation and our cities more competitive.”

The sisterhood, Tongson said, “is also an essential step in achieving our aim of uniting distinct sociocultural communities in order to create a sound system for resource sharing, providing assistance in times of need, and sharing knowledge in order to ensure prosperity.”

The two mayors met at the recently concluded two-day League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) Convergence meeting hosted by Taguig City.*
