To enhance the promotion of local culture and attract more visitors and investors, Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has issued Executive Order No. 021-A, Series of 2024, expanding the membership of the Inasal Festival Special Committee.

The move comes as a reinforcement of City Ordinance No. 482, series of 2009, amended by C.O No. 847, series of 2018, which established the Manokan Country Inasal Festival. The festival aims to celebrate the city’s famed chicken inasal industry and promote Bacolod’s unique culinary heritage.

Previously, Executive Order No. 16, series of 2023, later amended by E.O No. 021, series of 2024, formed the initial committee. However, after consultations with stakeholders involved in the festival’s organization, Benitez recognized the need to broaden representation.

The expanded committee will now include various offices and departments of the city, ensuring a more diverse range of expertise and perspectives in planning and executing the annual event.

The Inasal Festival has grown into one of Bacolod’s most anticipated events, drawing tourists from across the country and beyond. With the expanded committee in place, organizers are optimistic about the festival’s continued success and its contribution to the city’s cultural and economic growth.*
