Negros Cooperative Bank wins 5 national awards

The Negros Cooperative Bank, established in 2008 by 44 primary cooperatives of Negros Occidental, recently won five national awards from the Cooperative Banks Federation of the Philippines or BANGKOOP during its 44th year Annual General Assembly, held in Paraiso Verde Hotel, General Santos Drive, Koronadal City.

Among the federation’s 22 cooperative bank members, the Negros Cooperative Bank was awarded first place in “Managing Risk Asset Ratio”, first place in “Banks Profitability”, third place in “Bank’s Loan Administration”, third place in “Banks Liquidity”, and third place in “Award of Excellence”.

The brainchild of the late governor Joseph Marañon, the Negros Cooperative Bank was organized by Negros Occidental Development Council and cooperatives within the province of Negros Occidental to provide affordable financing rate for its members and the general public. At its main office located in Northgate building, Benigno Aquino Drive, Bacolod City, it offers a variety of loan and deposit products at very competitive rates. The bank manager is Ma. Pevi Miraflores Tongson.

Indeed the bank has come a long way from when it was organized, Negros Cooperative Bank (NCB) Chairman of the Board of Directors Glenn Vincent Leonardia said, who was elected during the banks’ 2023 annual general assembly.

Directors of the bank are Jose “Pepe” Ledesma – VICMICO Planters MPC, Joseph Edgar Sarrosa – Mambubukid Agri MPC, Sherman Kilayko – Negros Agricultural Cooperative, Roger De Guzman – San Carlos City Employees Coop, Joery Jay Castellano – Bacolod City Government Employees MPC, Saturnino Discutido – Landbank Bacolod MPC, Judeline Subong – Riverside Medical Center MPC, Teto Pilar – Kabankalan-Ilog Teachers and Employees MPC, Alfonso Ricafort – Escalante City Employees and Community MPC, and Nestor Bayona – Kabuhayan MPC, who was the banks’ chairman for 10 years. Nelson Pailano of Federation of Cooperatives of Negros Occidental is Board Secretary.*
