A man stabbed his uncle dead before also stabbing himself in Purok Paghidaet, Barangay Tangub in Bacolod City, at about 8:40 a.m. yesterday.
Ciriaco Pabalinas, 49, of the barangay, and the suspect, identified as Mark Lowell Pabalinas Atiemza, 34, were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, police records show.
However, Pabalinas was declared dead on arrival, while Atiemza is now recuperating at the hospital, the police said.
Investigation showed that Pabalinas was preparing breakfast when Atiemza suddenly stabbed him several times with a kitchen knife, hitting his chest. Atiemza then stabbed himself and sustained stab wounds in his abdomen.
Meanwhile, the body of a pedicab driver was found in the coastal area of Villa Servando in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod, at about 6 a.m. Thursday.
The victim, identified as Avelino Alisbo, 53, of the barangay, was found by a fisherman.
Alisbo was last seen having a drinking spree with his friends and had failed to go home, police records show.
No wounds were noted on his body, and further investigation is being done to determine whether or not there was foul play in the incident.*
